Kimmel Scrap
Iron & Metal has been recycling America's precious resources since
1930. Starting in Iowa City, Iowa, Ben Kimmel began with a horse
and buggy, buying and selling, rags and junk. In the following years
he started shipping loads of scrap metal to various consumers in
the local area.
In 1950 Morris
Kimmel married Ruth Mason the daughter of the other scrap metal
dealer in Iowa City. Together they moved to Detroit, Michigan and
founded Kimmel Scrap Iron & Metal Co. With hard work and perseverance
they survived where many other companies have gone by the wayside.
In 1978 Robert
Kimmel joined the company and is following in the tradition of his
family of providing quality service to his customers and exceptional
value to the many mills and foundries Kimmel Scrap Iron & Metal
